Due to the recession in the United States, my dad who has been working there for more than ten years lost his job. He is now jobless and we are really affected. He is our only source of income and now we don’t have our allowance. Since my sister already graduated from her course, Nursing, the same course that I am taking now, she is planning to work for our family. My sister graduated last year 2008 on April and she already took her local board exam. Fortunately, she passed her local boards and now she is finishing her I.V. therapy. Unfortunately, she is not practicing her profession. She tried to apply to different hospitals in our city and nearby cities but she was not hired. We thought that it is because of the over supply of nurses here in our country that no work slots are left for me and my sister. Now my sister applied for a job not really related to our profession. Fortunately she got the job but it will be just temporarily because she needs to practice her nursing profession or else she will not be an effective nurse she can be. And also there is a law about nurses who has not practice nursing for 5 years will need to attend a certain refresher course. That will be a hassle so she will still apply for different work related to nursing profession. Not only my sister did not get a nursing related course but also her classmates and those in her higher batch. They either end up in a call center or a medical representative or a cocktail in a VIP bar. Some ended up being a bum in their house. That can really be bad.
